Detroit Lakes Water Tower

The Detroit Lakes Public Utilities and City Council have approved a design for the new water tower. The water tower will be built near the current tower's location and will stand 127 feet tall with the capacity of 1.5 million gallons. The cost of the new tower is projected to be 8.3 million. Funding for the project is planned through the Public Facilities Authority, which offers low-interest loans to municipalities.  Advertising for bids has been approved and the groundwork for the new tower could begin late summer of 2024.  The project is estimated to be completed the first half of 2026.
