Scholarship Opportunities

Since 1997 the Detroit Lakes Municipal Electric Utility has sponsored an essay contest providing for a scholarship to a Detroit Lakes graduating high school senior residing with their parent or legal guardian who is an electric customer of our Detroit Lakes Utility.  Each year one winning essay will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $750.  The winning essay from Detroit Lakes is submitted for a state level contest through MMUA and is eligible for an additional scholarship up to $2,000.
