Scholarship Opportunities

Since 1997 the Detroit Lakes Municipal Electric Utilities has offered a scholarship opportunity to a Detroit Lakes graduating high school senior residing with their parent or legal guardian who is an electric customer of our Detroit Lakes Utility.  Starting in 2026 DLPU will partner with the Dollars for Scholars program to offer a $1,000 scholarship for a student entering a program relating to the Utilities industry.  Examples would be Electrical Engineering, Lineman Program, Energy Services, Electrician, etc.

Additional scholarships are available for Detroit Lakes Students through Missouri River Energy Services. A $1,000 scholarship is available for all Full-Time Undergraduate Studies students.  A $2,000 scholarship is available for students entering the Electric Lineman Program.  For more information or to apply please click on the link below.
