Detroit Lakes Water Tower

The Detroit Lakes Public Utilities Commission and City Council have approved a new water tower design. The new tower will be built near the current tower's location and stand 127 feet tall, with a capacity of 1.5 million gallons. The cost of the new water tower is projected to be 8.3 million. Funding for the project is planned through the Public Facilities Authority, which offers low-interest loans to municipalities. DLPU has been authorized to start advertising for bids and the groundwork for the new tower could begin this summer, with it estimated to be complete late 2025 or the first half of 2026.
